Research centers

Our long term research projects lead to formation of specialized groups which gather top scientists in their fields: such groups are Centre of Research Excellence for Advanced Cooperative Systems and Center of Excellence for Computer Vision.

Centre of Research Excellence for Advanced Cooperative Systems

The Centre of Research Excellence for Advanced Cooperative Systems (ACROSS) is an interdepartmental research centre at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. The Centre performs research in cooperative systems related to robotics, networked embedded systems and renewable energy systems. Its establishment and operation is funded by the European FP-7 Capacities "Research Potential" program [285939, FP7-REGPOT-2011-1].

HPC Architecture and Application Research Center

The focus of our research center is the design of high-performance, energy-efficient, application-specific computing systems. Throughout our research activities, we address the hot-topic challenges for both: embedded and HPC systems such as energy efficiency, architectural and algorithmic optimizations of compute intensive applications.

Center of Excellence for Computer Vision

The Center promotes collaboration between its members in the topics of computer vision and image understanding, pattern recognition and digital image processing and analysis.

Center of Research Excellence for Data Science and Advanced Cooperative Systems

The Centre of Research Excellence for Data Science and Advanced Cooperative Systems is the first centre of excellence in the field of technical sciences in Croatia. FER is the coordinating institution of the Centre that brings together researchers from thirteen renowned organizations, including eleven higher education institutions from Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek and Dubrovnik, as well as the Ruđer Bošković Institute and the company Ericsson Nikola Tesla.

Center for Artificial Intelligence

Center for Artificial Intelligence is a leading research center with the goals of advancing theoretical foundations and applications of artificial intelligence, technology transfer and strengthening industry collaboration and providing educational services. The Center comprises 18 research groups with more than 100 active researchers.
